Ante-Natal and Post-Natal Clinics.—The number of new
cases attending the various Centres was 1,736 as compared with
1,569 for the previous year. The numbers attending each Clinic

Other Ante-Natal Services.—In addition to the facilities
provided at the Borough Council Centres, 365 women received
treatment at St. Alfege Hospital, making approximately 2,190
attendances, whilst the British Home for Mothers and Babies,
Woolwich, was responsible for Ante-Natal supervision for 191
patients who made 1,146 attendances.
Infantile Mortality.—The total number of deaths under
1 year of age was 51 as compared with 59 for the previous year,
representing an Infantile Mortality Rate of 26 per 1,000 live births,
compared with 41 for England and Wales and 37 for the County of
London.
The average for the previous ten years is 43.
