MATERNITY & CHILD WELFARE.
Infant Welfare Centres.—The work at the Centres has
been conducted on similar lines as in previous years. New centres
were opsned at Fairfield House, Charlton Village (31st March)
and in a converted hutment in Ridgebrook Road on the Kidbrooke
Estate (25th November) thus relieving a certain amount of overcrowding
at some of the old Centres. This was inevitable having
regard to the very high Birth Rate recorded and attendances of
Babies rose from 18,422 in 1946 to 24,317.

Particulars relating to the various Centres are given in the following Tables:— (a) Babies 0-1 year.
