the same time extend a welcome to Dr. Arnold who took over as my Deputy
early in the year.
As in previous years I once again, with pleasure, refer to the
help and support that you Mr. Mayor, and Members of the Council, have
continued to give me, and particularly of that of the Chairman and
Members of the Committees with which I have been so closely concerned.
It is, I feel, also fitting that I should, in particular, acknowledge
the help that you, Mr. Mayor, have personally given in regard to the
work of my department, for the elderly, and assure you of the pleasure

Once again also, I acknowledge gladly and with sincere appreciation,
the loyal co-operation and help I have enjoyed from members of my staff,
who, each in their own way, have contributed to the good name that I
believe my department enjoys.
I have the honour to be,
Your obedient servant,
C O S. BLYTH BROOKE,
Medical Officer of Health,
