No action has been taken since the war under these Sections.
Individual Unfit Houses

to a comparatively small number of very bad houses, including certain
unoccupied premises.
Since the war Demolition or Closing Orders have been made in respect
of 101 premises. In 1956, 5 premises were represented and
Demolition Orders made in respect of 2 of them, the other 3 were still
under consideration at the end of the year. In addition, Closing
Orders under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1953
were made in respect of 6 premises represented in 1955. During the
year 2 premises were actually demolished involving the displacement of
5 persons.
