Live Births.
The total number of live births belonging to the Borough was
681 including 41 illegitimate births and consisting of 348 males and
333 females, giving a rate of 19.1 per 1,000 civilian population. The
birth rate for England and Wales was 15.3 per 1,000 home population
and 17.6 per 1,000 home population for the Administrative County
of London.
Stillbirths.
The total number of stillbirths allocated to the Borough during
the year was 14. This figure represents 2.02 per cent, of the total
births. Expressed as a proportion of the population the figures are
0.39 per 1,000 civilian population for Finsbury as against 0.34 for
the Administrative County of London and 0.35 for England and
Wales (total population).
