As a result of this circulation, by the end of the year nearly one
hundred and fifty firms (over 3,000 examinees) had been X-rayed,
besides a large number of individuals.
During the relatively brief period during which the Unit was
mobile, it carried out Surveys of firms within its zone, and included
the undermentioned Finsbury firms:—
British Drug Houses, Ltd., Graham Street, City Road, N.1.
Messrs. Blades, East & Blades, Ltd., Leonard Street, E.C.1.
The Mass Radiography Service is free, speedy, reliable and
confidential. It enables groups of people to have a chest X-ray with
a minimum amount of inconvenience. Its aim is to discover tuberculosis
and other chest ailments in the early stages, when a cure
can more easily be secured. All examinees are notified the result of
their examination.
