Food
Food Hygiene.
The Food Inspector comments and gives advice to traders and
their employees during his visits to the various food premises, as do
the Inspectors visiting factories where the canteens are included in
their inspections.
The local office of the Ministry of Food continues to co-operate
by insisting that new retail food premises that require a Food Office
Licence are constructed and equipped to the satisfaction of this
department before granting a licence.
Adulteration of Food.
688 samples were submitted to the Public Analyst during the
year, none being found adulterated. Two milk samples were
reported as being poor quality, and in 2 instances further samples of
Iodine were submitted at the Analyst's request.
103 samples were formal samples, and 585 informal.
