examination of patients and contacts at work. Moreover, doctors
are at times hesitant about referring cases for an opinion when
they realise that this will involve the patients being sent elsewhere
for X-Ray examination. It further means that it is impossible to
undertake pneumothorax work in the Dispensary.
Hospitals and Sanatoria.
Hospital and Sanatorium treatment is provided by the London
County Council at their several institutions for patients recommended
for this by the Tuberculosis Officer.
During 1937, 218 patients received treatment in one or more
institutions of whom 70 remained in hospital on 31st December.
