Dr. R. C. Townshend reports on the work of the
Maternity Clinic, as follows:—
Report to the Medical Officer of Health on the Cornwall Avenue
Ante-Natal Clinic for the year 1938.
I am glad again to be able to report that there has not
been a single death among the mothers attending the Clinic
during the year, and also to record that there has been an
increase in the attendance of mothers recently confined.
With regard to the miscarriages, two patients were
treated in hospital, and two by their own doctor. All the
patients were multigravidæ, and no definite cause was
assigned, though it may be noted that in four cases the
patients were suffering from anaemia.
