The 3,005 families remaining on the register at
the end of 1937 comprised 15.715| equivalent adults.
The system of certification on the part of the Borough
Council which gives preferential consideration
to applicants to the London County Council for
housing accommodation who are living under overcrowded
conditions continues to operate.
During the year 294 cases have been so certified.
These, added to the balance of 1936 cases outstanding

The system of notifying the owner or other responsible
person of the provisions of the Act in
relation to overcrowding has been continued as

At a suitable interval after the vacation of premises
a return visit has been made by the District Sanitary
Inspector to ascertain the new user of such premises,
