VERMIN IN RELATION TO HOUSING.
Re-inspection of the new tenements on the Butler
Estate one year after the entry of the new tenants
showed that the disinfestation of their furniture
prior to occupation had been successful. In only
4 cases were traces of vermin seen and they were
slight. Similar steps have been taken with the
furniture of the new tenants on the Digby Estate
opened during 1936.

Cake of Aged and Infirm Persons.
During the year, it was found necessary in two
cases to apply for a magistrate's order for the removal
to hospital of aged and infirm persons found
to be living under insanitary conditions and not
receiving proper care and attention.
FOOD POISONING.
Food Poisoning has been notifiable throughout
London since 1932. During the past year, 15 cases
were notified. Of these cases, 9 were attributed to
eating fish of various kinds, including shell fish and
tinned, and 4 to meat and 1 to egg and 1 to infection
by organisms of the Salmonella group.
