INHALATION CLINIC.
This Clinic has continued to give treatment for
catarrhal conditions of the upper respiratory tract
by the inhalation of volatile oils atomised by the
passage of a current of oxygen in a Spiess-Drager
Inhaling Apparatus. Pine oil and Cajuput oil in
equal parts have been used throughout the year.
Three sessions are held each week and the treatment
is sometimes given in addition to a course of Artificial
Sunlight. It is effective and pleasant and can be
a useful aid to the work in the infant consultations.
An increased number of the younger children
suffering from the catarrh associated with the
eruption of teeth have been treated with good results.
While this form of treatment is beneficial to adults
as well as children, it is still difficult to persuade
mothers to have it for themselves. Those we have
treated this year have been attending with their
children and they have been as pleased with the
good effect on themselves as with the benefit it has
been to the children.
