44 sessions were held during the year and the attendance
remained much the same as in 1934. The denture work
increases year by year and there is scope for more extensive
work among mothers in this respect. Educational and prophylatic
work is carried out as in previous years and mothers
are urged to bring their children early as it is found that caries
is often present before the temporary dentition is complete.
Instruction in correct brushing of teeth and advice
as to nibbling between meals and excessive sweet eating is
a very necessary part of the Clinic routine.
Janet H. M. Sutherland,
Dental Surgeon.
Mr. Bate furnishes me with the following statistics
:—
Sessions held, 81, of which 15 were Gas Sessions.
Children attending routine inspections, 278, of whom
109 were found to require treatment. 85 of these
children were treated, the remaining 24 failing to
re-attend or not proceeding with treatment for other
reasons.
Children referred by Medical Officers and Health Visitors
113 all requiring treatment and making 282 subsequent
attendances.
