MASSAGE.
Full use of the facilities for Massage (6 sessions
per week) has been made at the Welfare Centre this
year. Massage has been given to children attending
the Queen's Hospital for Children under the Council's
Orthopaedic scheme as well as to those children who
are recommended by the Medical Officers at the infant
consultations. A large number of children have been
taught remedial exercises which they practise at home
and it is interesting to see how well the children do
them and the good that results.
The analysis of cases indicates the range of the
work done, the groups due to defects in nutrition being
considerably bigger than those due to pathological
conditions and these are the children that respond
best to treatment. Thanks are due to the Masseuse
for the efficiency and popularity of this clinic. The
supply of work for it is limited only by the time
available for it.
