there is a big fall below it. The girls in both the 3 and 4 year
old age groups are below standard. The heights of all groups
is higher than standard and this fact may be accountable for
the lower weight in the 4 year old age group.

Analysis of conditions found on examination shows that
defects of Nutrition formed our biggest group and in this
Dental Caries and Rickets are most numerous. Nearly 50%
of the dental caries occurred in the 4-year old group, while it
was lowest in the 2-year old group. Severe rickets was seen
infrequently but early signs were noted in 73 cases. Very few
children were markedly below weight. Defects of management
was the next biggest group, the children showing behaviour
symptoms. A large number of big tonsils was noted and as
the majority of these children showed no sign of discomfort
the enlargement has been recorded as physiological and
classified accordingly. Our thanks are due to the nursing staff
