TUBERCULOSIS.
During the year 1960 there were 79 cases of tuberculosis (all
forms notified in Battersea as compared with 75 in 1959, 75 in 1958,
100 in 1957, 108 in 1956 and 129 in 1955.
In addition 44 cases were reported or otherwise came to the knowledge
the Medical Officer of Health, making a total of 123 cases
for the year.
The case rate per 1,000 population (excluding inward transfers)
was 0.74 or 74.0 per 100,000. At the end of the year there were 1,086
pulmonary cases and 58 non-pulmonary cases of tuberculosis on the
Register. This is equal to a morbidity rate per 1,000 population of
10.14 in the case of pulmonary, and 0.54 in the case of non-pulmonary
tuberculosis or 10.68 both types.
The tables on page 19 give details of additions and deletions of
cases on the Register during the year.
