Friday morning Ante-natal Clinic—Southlands institute.
During the year 1934, 51 sessions were held, with an average
attendance of 17.7 per clinic. 286 new cases were seen, and the
total attendances at the clinic numbered 901.
Classification of new cases.
Of the new cases attending the Clinic, 96 or 33.6 per cent.
were primiparæ, 189 were multiparæ, of which 85 or almost 45 per
cent. were " return " cases, and one was not pregnant.

Period of pregnancy when patient first attended.

(Note.—The apparently small number of cases of albuminuria
occurring in patients attending this clinic may be accounted for by
the fact that a very large proportion of these patients are referred
to the B.M.H. or are attending another clinic during the last month
or six weeks of their pregnancy—i.e., at the time when albuminuria
most frequently occurs.)
