Senile Mortality.

During 1933 the deaths of 928 residents of Battersea aged 65 years and upwards were registered. The distribution of these deaths, which constituted 48.2 per cent. of the deaths at all ages, is set out in the following table:—

Infant Mortality.
During 1933 the deaths of 112 infants were registered as belonging
to Battersea. The total number of births registered during
the year was 2,263, giving an infant mortality rate of 49.49 per
1,000 births, as compared with 57.8 in 1932, 57.3 in 1931, 54.7 in
1930, and 62.6 in 1929. The infant mortality rate for the year
1933 is the lowest yet recorded in Battersea.
