BIRTHS.
The number of births registered in the Borough during 1933
was 2,682 (1,328 males, 1,354 females), an excess of 26 females.
Of this number, 799 were transferred out, the permanent residence
of the parents being outside the Borough, and 380, registered outside
the Borough, were transferred here, giving on balance a total of
2,263 births (1,131 male, 1,132 female) relating to Battersea residents,
and a corrected birth-rate of 14.7 per 1,000 of the population.
This is a slight decrease on that of 1932, and the birth-rate is the
lowest so far recorded in Battersea.
