BIRTHS.
The number of births registered in the Borough during 1928
was 3,054 (1,557 males, 1,497 females), an excess of 60 males.
Of this number, 627 were transferred out, the permanent residence
of the parents being outside the Borough, and 316 were transferred
here, giving on balance a total of 2,743 births relating to Battersea
residents, and a corrected birth-rate of 16.7 per 1,000 of the
population.
The following table gives the distribution of the births and the birth-rate per 1,000 of the population in the Sub-districts and in the Wards for the year 1928.
