Borough Co-ordinating Committee
Three meetings of the Borough Co-ordinating Committee were held
during 1970. Subjects discussed included the N.S.P.C.C. Battered BabyStudy,
the Local Authority Social Services Act, 1970 and the new
Education Welfare Service of the Inner London Education Authority.
Projects which might be suitable for inclusion under Phase III of
the Urban Programme were put forward and discussed.
Thirty case conferences were held during the year, when
consideration was given to the problems of 28 (40) families causing
concern to statutory and/or voluntary services. Many such families require
a high degree of support in order to help their survival as family units
and at the end of the year the department's Family Caseworkers were
visiting jS families.
Close liaison continued with the Family Welfare Association and
the West London Family Service Unit. Grants made during the year by
the Council totalled £4,015 and £8,615 respectively.
