There were 221 new admissions and 140 discharges from the Council's
homes during 1970. In the same period, 96 persons died in the homes.
Vacancies are held for short-term admissions to hospitals, residents who
are away on holiday and for major redecoration programmes. The total
number of re-admissions from hospital was 74 and discharges to hospital
amounted to 154.
