B.C.G. VACCINATION FOR 13-YEAR OLD CHILDREN.
A medical officer, together with a clerical assistant, visited 8 (12)
schools throughout the year.
1,018 (l,86l) children were found eligible for B.C.G. vaccination.
The parents of 958 (1,458) children gave their consent, out of this number
694 (1,119) were skin-tested and read. Of these, 630 (1,019) children
were given B.C.G. vaccination. The remaining 64 (98) were found to be
positive reactors.
It must be stated that the B.C.G. vaccination programme was not
completed because of staff shortage and because of heavy commitments in
connection with the measles immunisation.
