The total of ninety-eight shows a decrease of seventy-five from the
figure for the previous year, due primarily to a complete revision of
all persons on the list as provided by the former London County Council,
many of whom for a variety of reasons were found to be no longer in
need. The normal movement of admissions and discharges reduced the
numbers on the urgent list.
