Clinical Report.
During the year a study was made of a special series of cases with particular reference to the information
obtained from the electrocardiograms. Thirty-five of these cases were children suffering from various manifestations
of acute rheumatism, and, as a control, 35 cases with no clinical abnormality and, as far as could be detected,
no abnormal cardiac condition.
The following table shows the results in tabular form obtained from this investigation. Cases 1 to 35 are
children definitely suffering from rheumatism, and cases 36 to 70 are the results obtained from those children
used as a control.
Table: The electrocardiographics curve is empirically lettered P, Q, R, S, T. Abbreviations used in the following table :—Sl.L.A.D. = Slight left axis deviation. R.A.D. = Right axis deviation. M.S. = Mitral stenosis. A.R. = Aortic regurgitation. E.C. = Electrocardiogram.Electrocardiograms in Mitral Stenosis.
