Health Education had now assumed an important role and regular film shows on
health topics were being given at the Central Library during the winter months.
Underground bakehouses had now been reduced to ten.
As will be seen from the above extracts, although outstanding progress has been made in
some fields, there are still public health problems which are as pressing to-day as they were in
previous decades.
