of deaths among illegitimate infants during the past two years.

MATERNAL MORTALITY.
During the year three deaths were primarily classified as due directly
to complications of pregnancy or childbirth.
In the case of every maternal death the circumstances are fully
investigated by the Medical Officer of Health, the findings being reported
to the Ministry of Health.
