Diphtheria Anti-toxin.—Anti-toxin is supplied, in prophylactic and
in curativc doses, free of charge to any medical practitioner requiring
it for Chelsea patients. An anti-toxin syringe, needles and steriliser
are also available. As yet no application of the Schick test or of artificial
immunization against the disease has been made in the Borough. Further
details will be found on page 30.
SCARLET FEVER.
Notifications.—During the year, 130 cases of Scarlet Fever were
notified, the figure for 1929 being 149. Information was received from
the L.C.C. Hospitals that 4 of the cases proved not to be Scarlet Fever.
Three " return " cases of the disease occurred during the year and
necessary action was taken.
Table No. 43 shows the incidence of the disease during the past five
years, while Table No. 44 covers the quinquennial periods since 1911.
Deaths.—There was one death from Scarlet Fever during the year,
