Section 7.—Provides that manufacturers of and wholesale dealers
in margarine and margarine cheese are to be registered, and they
must also keep a register showing the quantity imported and sold
by them.
Section 8.—Makes it illegal to make or sell mixtures containing
more than 10 per cent. of butter.
Section 9.—Provides that every person must have his name and
address on every vehicle, can, or other receptacle where he sells milk
or cream from.
Section 10.—Gives directions as to division of samples taken in
the course of delivery.
Section 11.—Provides that every tin of condensed milk from
which cream has been abstracted, must bear a label with the words
"Machine Skimmed Milk" or "Skimmed Milk" as the case may
require, printed in large and legible type.
Section 12.—Directs that notice of mixtures must be legibly
printed on the labels and must not be obscured by any other matter.
Section 13.—Provides that when an article is bought for analysis
it must be divided into 3 parts, one part to be delivered to the
Public Analyst, one part to be retained by the Inspector for future
comparison, one part to be given to the vendor if he asks for it.
Section 14.—Provides that samples of articles may be taken in
the course of delivery, at the request of or consent of the purchaser
or consignee.
Section 16.—Any person wilfully obstructing an Inspector in the
execution of his duty, is liable to heavy penalties.
Section 17.—Gives a list of the penalties which are very much
heavier than in the 1875 Act.
Section 26.—Food shall include every article used for food or
drink by man, other than drugs or water, and any article which
ordinarily enters into or is used in the composition or preparation of
human food; and shall also include flavouring matters and condiments.
