It is interesting to note the very great difference between
the death-rate of legitimate and illegitimate infants. The
former being 68 per 1,000 whilst the latter is 148 per 1,000,
a difference of 80 per 1,000.
The following table on infantile mortality has been
prepared in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of
Health.

Deaths of Aged. Persons.—The corrected number of deaths
of residents at 65 years of age and upwards registered during
the year was 625, against 576 in the previous year. These
deaths were equal to 4.7 per 1,000 of the total persons living,
and 375 per 1,000 of the total deaths of residents registered.
Of the 625 deaths of residents at 65 years of age and
upwards it is interesting to note that of these, 122 died
between the ages of 65 and 70, 297 between 70-80, 182
between 89-90, 23 between 90-100 and 1 at the age of 100.
