Six hundred and fifty-five cases were notified (compared
with 898 in 1924), 94 being under one year of age, 350 from one to
five, and 206 from five to fifteen, the districts concerned being
East Greenwich, 300 ; West Greenwich, 195 ; St. Nicholas, 36;
Charlton, 117; and Kidbrooke, 7. Each of these cases was visited
and leaflets and instructions left, together with verbal advice
respecting the isolation and care of the patient.
Epidemic Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis, Cerebro-Spinal
Fever, or Post-Basal Meningitis.—There were 3 cases of this
disease notified during the year, 2 of which occurred in East Greenwich,
and 1 in West Greenwich. One specimen was forwarded
by a local medical practitioner for bacteriological examination in
respect of a case suspected to be cerebro Spinal Fever, which was
subsequently found to be negative in character.
Acute Polio-Myelitis or Acute Polio-Encephalitis.—
There was 1 case notified during the year, as compared with 4
cases in 1923, and 1 in 1924.
Ophthalmia Neonatorum.—During the year 15 cases of this
disease have been notified, 6 being in East Greenwich, 2 in West
Greenwich, 2 in St. Nicholas, Deptford, 4 in Charlton, and 1 in
Kidbrooke.

Malaria.—There were 2 cases of Malaria notified during the
year, 1 occurring in West Greenwich, and 1 in St. Nicholas, compared
with 8 last year.
Encephalitis Lethargica.—There were 11 notifications of
cases of this disease. Four of these cases occurred in the eastern
part of the Borough, 1 in the western. 3 in St. Nicholas, Deptford,
and 3 in Charlton.
