The quarterly incidence of the disease for 1925 has been as
follows :—
lst Quarter—East Greenwich, 46 cases; West Greenwich, 35; St.
Nicholas, 2; Charlton, 20; a total of 103 cases.
2nd Quarter—East Greenwich, 28 cases; West Greenwich, 22; St.
Nicholas, 11; Charlton, 13; a total of 74 cases.
3rd Quarter—East Greenwich, 48 cases; West Greenwich, 33;
St. Nicholas, 2; Charlton, 20; Kidbrooke, 2; a
total of 105 cases.
4rd Quarter—East Greenwich, 51 cases; West Greenwich, 37; St.
Nicholas, 1; Charlton, 60; Kidbrooke, 3; a total
of 152 cases.
Membranous Croup.—There were no cases of Membranous
Croup notified during the year.
Erysipelas.—Fifty one cases were notified during the year,
17 being in East Greenwich, 16 in West Greenwich, 7 in St. Nicholas,
9 in Charlton, and 2 in Kidbrooke. Seven of these patients were
removed to a Public Institution in the district.
Scarlet Fever.—Three hundred and four cases were notified
during the year, as compared with 599, 219, and 292 cases respectively
in the years 1922, 1923 and 1924, 189 cases were in East
Greenwich, 61 in West Greenwich, 19 in St. Nicholas, 33 in Charlton
and 2 in Kidbrooke; 292 of these cases were removed to the Hospital
for treatment, 4 of which were returned as not suffering from
this disease. There were 3 deaths from this disease during the
year, compared with two the previous year. Of the 292 cases
treated in Hospital, the following were certified to be suffering on
discharge from Hospital with chronic disease :—Rhinitis, 4; and
Otorrhæa, 2.
There were no cases which could be described as "Return
Cases."
Typhoid Fever.—There were 8 cases of Typhoid or Enteric
Fever notified during the year, 6 being in East Greenwich, 1 in West
Greenwich, and 1 in Charlton. The ages of the patients were: 2
between five and fifteen years, 1 between fifteen and twenty-five
years, 4 between twenty-five and forty-five years and 1 between
forty-five and sixty-five years. Five cases were removed to Hospital
for treatment. In the years 1921, 1922, 1923 and 1924 there were
11, 3, 16 and 10 cases respectively. The average number for the
previous ten years is 13.
