The prevalence of Measles in the earlier part of the year necessarily
took up a considerable portion of the Health Visitors' time,
and seriously interfered with the routine work generally.
In this connection consideration had been given to a Report
by one of the Ministry of Health's Medical Inspectors in which it
was pointed out the need for an additional Health Visitor, and in
view of the fact that it had been decided to open a new Centre for
the benefit of the Mothers residing in the lower area of Charlton,
the Council agreed to such appointment. (Appointed February,
1925.)
The following table shows at a glance the work undertaken
at the various Infant Consultation Centres during the year:—
