In addition to the ordinary routine work performed by the
Staff the whole of the Boys' Section and a portion of the Infants'
Section of the Blackheath Road Council School was fumigated
after an outbreak of Diphtheria.
HOUSES INSPECTED AND INQUIRIES MADE IN
CONNECTION WITH INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
Number of Houses Inspected and Inquiries made by Infectious
Disease Inspector 695
Number of Re-visits 2,560
The Health Visitors also visited 2,806 cases, and re-visited
when required.
The following books belonging to the Libraries, etc., were
destroyed in consequence of Infectious Disease:—
Central Libraries, 96 ; School Libraries, 6 ; Total, 102.
CLEANSING STATION, BLACKWALL LANE.
The new Cleansing Station which forms part of the Disinfecting
premises was formally opened in June. Provision is made for
separate slipper baths for adults and children of both sexes, together
with separate waiting rooms, drying rooms, and a room for the use
of the nurse in attendance.
The arrangements made with the London County Council for
reserving the use of the Cleansing Station on Mondays and Thursdays
for the cleansing of verminous school children continue in
operation.
