the year, whereby that Institution carried out all necessary pathological
and bacteriological work for this Department, other than
under the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, and in this connection
1,827 specimens have been examined for Diphtheria, 9 for Typhoid
Fever, 402 for Tuberculosis, and 33 for other various conditions.
Fuller details respecting results of the examinations of these
specimens will be found under the different headings of the individual
diseases.
Thirty-five tubes of Diphtheria Antitoxin, containing a total of
125,000 units of serum, have been supplied during the yearto Medical
Practitioners for the treatment of patients suffering from this
disease.
