BIRTHS.
During the year (fifty-two weeks) 2,965 births
were registered in the Parish, viz., 1,513 of boys and
1,452 of girls, equivalent to a rate of 23.22 per 1,000
inhabitants. That rate was 0.98 below the mean
rate of the preceding six years (24.20), and 1.18
below the decennial mean rate (24.40). (See Tables
2 aud 3). Last year's rate was the lowest recorded in
