Enteric Fever.
During 1926 six cases of enteric fever were notified in Battersea.
Of these 3 cases were cancelled, the diagnosis not being confirmed
at hospital. There was 1 death from this disease as compared with
1 death in 1925 and 3 deaths in 1924.
Cerebro-Spinal Fever.
During 1926 only 1 case of this disease was notified in Battersea,
which proved fatal.
Encephalitis Lethargica.
Eight cases of Encephalitis Lethargica (sleepy sickness) were
notified in Batersea during 1926, as compared with 8 in 1925 and
14 in 1924. In 4 of the cases the diagnosis was not confirmed.
Three deaths were recorded from the disease (one being of an
un-notified chronic case in a mental hospital) giving a death-rate
of 0.017.
