Report on the health of the Metropolitan Borough of Battersea for the year 1926

Scarlet Fever.
Scarlet Fever was somewhat more prevalent during 1926,
and 581 cases were notified as compared with 497 in the previous
year.
The case-rate per 1,000 of the population was 3.4 and 2 deaths
were registered from the disease giving a death-rate of 0.012 per
1,000 as compared with 8 deaths and a death-rate of 0.046 in 1925.
Of the cases notified 577 or 99.3 per cent. were removed to
hospital. The infected houses numbered 492.
In 39 of the notified cases (not included in the above total),
the diagnosis of Scarlet Fever was not confirmed at Hospital.
