Births.
The number of births registered in the Borough during 1924
was 3,180 (1,669 males, 1,511 females), an excess of 158 males. Of
this number 305 were transferred out, the permanent residence of the
parents being outside the Borough, and 264 births occurring elsewhere
were transferred here, giving on balance a total of 3,139 births
relating to Battersea residents and a corrected birth-rate of 18.4 per
1,000 of the population.
