Costers and Food Stalls.—Careful supervision has
been given during the year in order to deal with the
many unsatisfactory places where costers have been
found to keep food, especially fruit, prior to its sale
on their barrows or stalls. I caused the sanitary
inspectors to prepare a list of all the costers in the
Borough, giving the places where they sold their goods
and also the places where they kept them prior to sale.
All these places were subsequently inspected and in
many cases alterations and improvements were effected.
