The number of stillbirths was 3·3 per cent. of the total births.
Deaths.
During 1938 the number of deaths reported by the Registrar-
General as belonging to Camberwell was 2,729. The death rate for
the year was accordingly 12·27 per 1,000 population. The death rate
for England and Wales for 1938 was 11·6 and for London 11·4.
The causes of death in age groups are summarised in the following
