Inquiry into Maternal Deaths.
Confidential reports on the Maternal deaths occurring in the
Borough were submitted as in past years to the Ministry of Health.
Infantile Mortality.
The number of deaths of infants under one year of age was 214,
an increase of 54 as compared with 1933. The infant mortality rate
was 67 per 1,000 births. The mortality rate for 1933 was 49. The
mortality rates for the past five years are shewn in the subjoined
table:—
