SCABIES & VERMIN.
There were over 2000 fewer attendances for treatment for Seabies
at the Council's Cleansing Station during 1945 than in the previous
year. The attendances for the treatment of verminous conditions were
also over 700 less than in 1944.
Follow-up visits were paid by the Sanitary Inspectors to all these
cases. The Health Visitors also concentrated largely in their visiting
on the homes which they knew to be the least satisfactory, particularly
in the case of children between 2 and 5 years of age.
The issue of small tooth combs and Lethane Oil continued as an
activity of the Infant Welfare centre service.
