DEATHS.
The total number of deaths belonging to the borough registered
during 1949 was 726, consisting of 391 males and 335 females. The
number for 1948 was 710. The death-rate for 1949 was 12.0 per
thousand persons living, compared with 11.8 for 1948.
MARRIAGES.
The total number of marriages in the borough in 1949 was 609,
being 14 above the number for 1948, and 125 below the average for
the last 10 years.
The figures have been supplied by the Superintendent Registrar.
