BIRTHS.
The total number of births belonging to the borough registered
during 1947 was 1,531 consisting of 797 males and 734 females. The
number for 1946 was 1,353. The birth-rate for 1947 was 25.9 per
thousand persons living, compared with 24.0 for 1946.
