RAG FLOCK ACT, 1911 AND PUBLIC HEALTH (LONDON)
ACT, 1936:—
There are four premises in the District where rag flock is
used and nine inspections were made during the year. Ten
samples of rag flock were taken, eight of which conformed with
the regulations. The two remaining samples, which were taken
from a man who did not usually use rag flock, were found to
contain 240 parts and 112 parts per 100,000 of soluble chlorine
respectively, but as it was doubtful whether the samples came
strictly under the definition of rag flock, being a mixture of rag
flock and hair, proceedings were not taken. A warning was sent
to the vendor, who destroyed the remainder of the flock which
was on his premises.
RATS AND MICE (DESTRUCTION) ACT, 1919—
No notices were served under this Act.
WATER SUPPLY—
Most of the houses in the borough have the water supply
either on the ground floor or in the yard, and many of these
houses are inhabitated by more than one family. Water
supply has been installed on one of the storeys of 42 tenement
houses, after service of notices.
WATER CLOSET ACCOMMODATION—
Every inhabited house in the borough has one water-closet,
which is, in many cases, shared by two or more families. Many
of the flats have one water-closet to two families.
