PAUPERISM IN ISLINGTON.
In my reports for the several quarters I gave a return of the
state of pauperism in the parish for each week of the year. I now
append a statement showing the average number of indoor and
outdoor paupers relieved during the year and during the preceding
four years.
In was
1985 the average weekly number of paupers (in and out door) 6,291
1896 „ „ „ „ 6,436
1897 „ „ „ „ 6,486
1898 „ „ „ „ 6,635
1899 „ „ „ „ 6,854
From these figures it appears that the weekly average number
of paupers, in or out door, was 392 in excess of the average of the
four preceding years.
