In order that the relative importance of the figures given in
this report concerning England and Wales, the Urban Districts,
the Rural Districts, and London, may be better appreciated, I
reprint Table IV. It will be noticed that the age distribution in
London and in Islington is almost identical. For this reason the
several nativity and mortality returns are comparable without any
correction being necessary for age.
The two Tables immediately following have been prepared
from the retnrns of the Registrar-General, and will be found useful
for comparative purposes.
