The greatest fatal incidence of the disease occurred in the
Sub-Registration District of South East Islington, in which 150
deaths, equal to a death-rate of 2.20 per 1,000, occurred. This rate,
although high for Islington, is not so high as in other parts of the
Metropolis. Thus in Central London, which embraces seven
Sanitary Districts, the rate was 2.75 per 1,000, the rate for Holborn
being 2.32, and of St. Luke's as high as 3.53 per 1,000.
The deaths in the Sub-Registration Districts:—
Upper Holloway | 130 deaths | = 1.25 per 1,000 inhabitants. |
Islington, South-west | = 1.92 „ „ | |
,, South-east | 150 „ | |
Highbury | 94 „ | = 1.38 „ „ |
