Tubercular Diseases.
These Diseases include Phthisis, Scrofula, Tabes Mesenterica,
and Hydrocephalus.
Phthisis.—To it were attributed 583 deaths, 359 males and 224
females, which represent a death-rate of 1.67 per 1,000 inhabitants
These figures show an increase of 21 deaths and a small rise in
the death-rate of 0.06 per 1,000, when contrasted with the returns
of the preceding eight years.
Since 1891 the deaths and death-rates have been:—
